Art Every Day Month — Day 7

Glass Fusing Workshop

A few months ago I bought a Groupon for a Fused Glass Class at Bullseye Glass Co. near where I live in Emeryville, CA. I finally had a chance to go tonight. I learned how to cut glass, not too difficult once you get the hang on it and all the steps needed to take to create an 8-inch square plate. All that’s left is for the plate to be fired in the kiln where the glass will fuse then will go through a second firing where the plate will be shaped through a slump firing.

I was overwhelmed with all the color and design possibilities so wound up keeping it simple especially given the short time we had. Can’t wait until Saturday to see how it will come out!
